Day 3, 1990–1994: Windows 3.0–Windows NT

Window 3.0
Windows 3.0 was released on March 22, 1990. This is the third major release from Microsoft. Within 2 year, Windows 3.0 and its update Windows 3.1 together had sold around 10 million copies. The Windows 3.0 runs faster than any operating system that had been release at that time, it comes with 16 colors, better looking interface, everything now has an icon, and games like Solitaire, Minesweeper, and Hearts.
Soon after the success of Windows 3.0, Windows NT was released. This is first operating system I used, most people might be familiar with is Windows NT, as you can see on the picture, the interface for windows NT is very similar to the Windows we are using now days. One is that is good about Windows NT is that now windows have better security. Before Windows NT, when you turn on your computer you automatically log in to your account. However, Windows NT has two option after you turn on your computer, you can either log in as an administrator or as a guest. Now people will not be able to access your computer without your password. This provide a light protection for your computer.
Window NT
Here are some advantage from using Window NT:
1. Better stability and security than Windows 3.0, DOS.
2. NT now has better virus protection, not many virus can harm Windows NT.

There's also some disadvantage from using Windows NT, to install Windows NT it requires you to buy a better performance computer, and some of the older program might not run on Windows NT.
